Gran Canaria: Destination for eyelid surgery
I had looked extensively into going abroad for eyelid surgery and after looking into numerous options, I chose Gran Ca
naria because of its reputation in providing high quality Heath Care and because it also fit in with my travel plans.
I spoke at length with Karen from Canary Medical Key for quite a few months before committing, but once I had decided to go ahead with surgery, Karen went out if her way to make all the necessary arrangements for me. I found her to be an invaluable source of information, taking great care to explain everything to me in detail and tailored an individual care package to suit my needs.

My husband & I were met at the airport, Karen then accompanied us by taxi to the Innova clinic in Las Palmas. She stayed and helped us complete all the necessary paperwork and consent forms, translated when necessary prior to my consultation with Dr Medina, the Consultant, before I had my procedure.
The Innova clinic in Las Palmas is a spotless clean modern facility, all the staff were extremely professional, yet friendly in the sense they put me at complete ease.
My procedure was performed effortlessly under a local anaesthetic and apart from an expected small amount of bleeding everything went to plan and I was discharged within a short amount of time.
After surgery and follow-up
For the next 5 days after my surgery I had daily contact via phone with the Consultant to check on my progress. I was accompanied again with Karen to the clinic for my follow up appointment for my post operative review and my sutures removed.
Once I was back in the UK Karen continued to check on my continued recovery.
