Not only do we have a wide range of centres and specialised services available but, also wonderful beaches in an ideal, serene, natural environment to enhance recovery and improve well-being. Gran Canaria has often been named by prestigious global organisations as the healthiest climate in the world, owing to its meteorological and environmental conditions. These favourable conditions have made us an outstanding destination in the global market of this tourism specialisation.

All initiatives which analyse the trends within the sector and propose new ideas or services which can promote our image abroad are more than welcome. The organising of the first Medical Tourism Conference by Canary Medical Key with the very apt title of “Opportunities and Challenges for the 21st Century” presented an interesting study of the clients who seeks this type of product and, at the same time, went through the key points concerning the present demand.

I would like to congratulate Canary Medical Key and Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce for their initiative and wish them every success in the future.
